![]() ![]() Dear friend,As the Director of the Kairos community, I want to say welcome and welcome back to any who are visiting our website. Our prayer and intent with this site is to make it a place where you can learn about us: about our history (where did Kairos come from?), our present (who are we and what are we doing now?), and our future (who do we want to become?). As you come to know us here, we hope the KOL website is merely an on-ramp to meet with us in all our God-made, worshiping, broken, seeking, finding, three-dimensional glory. The Scottish novelist George MacDonald wrote that the Spirit of God prowls about the heart of every man or woman, hungry for His own, and something as small as the notes from a violin or the scent of a rose can pierce the walls that keep God out. My hope is that Kairos is a people of violins and roses, breaking walls down and allowing God’s breath of grace and truth in. We evaluate our structures, our events, our plans accordingly: do they help men and women connect to Jesus and to one another? We look forward to knowing you, ![]() Dean Miller Kairos Director dmiller@thefallschurch.org 703.574.4380 About the Millers![]() He was born in Washington, DC, grew up in California, and attended seminary at Regent College in Vancouver, where he received his Masters of Divinity and met Mary Ellen. Mary Ellen, who is from Vancouver, obtained her Masters in Spiritual Theology at Regent. Dean grew up in a variety of "solid, evangelical" churches as the son of a pastor. As a young adult praying over his vocation, he was heavily influenced by two other pastors, Eugene Peterson and Earl Palmer. “They love literature, people, and the Biblical text, and over time I realized that is what I was created to do, too,” Dean said. Home life for the Millers is largely dominated by their three young children. The whole family loves U2, and the boys enjoy playing along with their music on the drums - banging on toy drum sets or plastic chairs. Dean also loves sports - soccer in particular. Mary Ellen loves reading, especially works on spiritual formation or spiritual theology, and said that motherhood has opened up for her a whole new world of tea appreciation. “It’s like a mini-spa for a mom,” she said. Dean and Mary Ellen are both excited about serving, leading and raising their children as a part of the Kairos community. You can reach Dean at dmiller@thefallschurch.org or at 703.574.4380. |
