![]() ![]() How Do I Join?If you are interested in joining a small group, download and complete the registration form. Then email it to: kairos.small.groups@gmail.com. About Our Small GroupsSmall groups help thicken community within Kairos by providing consistent fellowship, facilitating thoughtful, personal discussions about faith and life, with prayer, and ultimately encouraging deeper relationships of trust with each other and life with God through Jesus. They complement Sunday night Kairos gatherings by providing a smaller setting in which to know and be known.Community/Fellowship Numbers are purposefully kept small (five to eight) and the meeting times consistent (usually weekly), so that through meals, conversations, retreating together, and just hanging out, small groups move from individuals gathered together into a group with its own fabric of relational affection and knowledge. Prayer Prayer naturally flows from intentional community and fellowship. As we get to know each other, we want to bring each other and the group before God in prayer. Study There is much good in coming together to discuss the Bible and books on the Faith, which encompass a lot of topics - particularly when the conversations are illustrated by questions and observations from life. Trust Over time, as a small group fellowships, prays, and studies together, trust can build up so as to support conversation and growth regarding issues closest to one's heart. Within this atmosphere groups can hold one another accountable to "that in which I ask you to support me." As such, most Kairos small groups are single gendered, though some are co-ed and include married couples. Service Though small groups are largely internally focused - "to help thicken community within Kairos" - they are also a great platform from which to serve together in Kairos, the DC area, or around the world on Global Engagement trips. Availability Small groups in some seasons are open and in others are closed. Open groups welcome new people into a pre-existing community knowledgeable about Kairos and the DC area. Closed groups build on consistency and confidence in order to go deeper in study and accountability. Small group leaders are vital in helping groups flourish. Kairos helps support small group leaders by proving a resource list, retreat locations, service opportunities, and occasional training sessions together.
