The Outreach Team seeks to provide opportunities through which the Kairos community can engage with others in the DC metro area and around the world. We believe that one evidence of a life transformed by Christ’s redemption is intentional involvement with the poor, lost, lonely, and forgotten. For Kairos, this means being agents of God’s grace wherever we are – whether it be in the marketplace, Southeast DC, our neighborhoods, or places around the world. If you are interested in finding out more about this aspect of our community life, simply touch base via the contact info provided below.

Local Outreach

Numerous opportunities exist to engage with our local community – a few examples of Kairos involvement are:
  • The ministry of Southeast DC Partners: mentoring, tutoring, planning seasonal events
  • The ESOL program at The Falls Church: teaching classes, being an English conversation partner, assisting with childcare
  • Grate Patrol: taking part in this effort to provide breakfast each Saturday and Sunday morning to many of the homeless in the District

Global Outreach

Kairos also takes part in active ministry partnerships in other countries via the Outreach Ministry of The Falls Church. Every year, members of Kairos embark on Global Engagement Trips (GETs), which offer a way to see God's heart for the world. Past destinations have included the Dominican Republic, Kenya, Rwanda, China, India, Ireland, Bolivia, and Kazakhstan. Trip applications are typically available each January, with most teams traveling during the summer.
